July 3–September 10: Mount Fuji Private Vehicle Restrictions (Yoshida Trail, Yamanashi Prefecture Side)

To alleviate congestion and traffic jams during the summer hiking season on Mount Fuji, as well as to reduce the environmental impact of vehicle emissions, “private vehicle restrictions” are enforced for a specific period each summer.Hikers ascending from the Yoshida Trail on the Yamanashi Prefecture side must park their private vehicles at the “Mt. Fuji Parking Lot (Fuji North Foot Parking Lot)” at the base of the mountain during the restriction period and transfer to shuttle buses or other transportation to reach the Fifth Station of Mt. Fuji.
FY 2026 Private Vehicle Restriction Period
■Friday, July 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. through Thursday, September 10, at 6:00 p.m.
■ Parking Fee: 1,000 yen per vehicle per visit (including motorcycles of 125cc or larger)
There is a 4,000-yen entrance fee per person for climbing Mount Fuji.
